The Therapist and court
Time & Location
About the Event
This training event is open to qualified and student counsellors.
The event will help counsellors understand what is expected of them should they receive notification they are involved/likely to be involved in an ongoing court case or have a client involved in legal proceedings. Such a notification can often be concerning and bring into question issues of client confidentiality.
This is a highly interactive training event using case studies. At the end of the training delegates will have a good understanding of the court process, what is involved, their responsibilities and how to appropriately prepare responses to solicitors and courts.
This course relates only to adult court proceedings.
The course will cover:
- Overview of the legal system
- Correspondence
- Court orders
- Writing reports and keeping counselling notes
- Appearing as a witness
- Fee's and experience
This event is limited to 10 attendees, a waiting list will be held. Places are on a first come basis. Registration is on line using www.beeyoucounsellinmg.me/events website.

The course will be delivered by Tina Wetherall-Pegley. Tina is a qualified counsellor and trainer. Tina has experience of the court system and is looking forward to passing some of her knowledge onto other counsellors.
